Sedona Historical Society

Had a great visit to this orchard from circa 1900. This area is also where a lot of old western movies were made.
The museum had a great old kitchen reminded me of a Maine camp kitchen.

hiking Sedona

We went hiking Monday in the early morning and late afternoon to avoid the strong sun of midday. The red earth here makes some spots feel like a Martian landscape.
We also visited a catholic church by architect Frank Lyold Wright.

hiking in Sedona

Sunday was a museum day. We went yo a town called Prescott. This was the first capital of Arizona. There were a campus of historic buildings that included a long cabin from the 1860s that was both the governors mansion and offices. It was interesting to learn that the first governor of Arizona was a Mainer. I got so involved in hearing the stories I neglected to take pictures. Accept one

Arrived in Sedona

Flight landed in Phoenix 104 degrees. Alas, it is a dry heat. Made our way to Sedona and the resort. Great unit very spacious. The views from the upstairs terrace are great.
